Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting people with a learning disability and mental health and a full UK driver’s license.
  • Must currently be based in/around the Torquay area and able to commute.
  • UK driver’s license required.
  • Previous Autism experience.
  • Previous experience working with mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enable the individual to lead an independent and fulfilling life.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Ensure the individual's safety and well-being at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with the individual and other team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
  • Adhere to care plans and guidelines provided.
  • Aid with light household chores which may include cooking and cleaning.
  • Assist with all aspects of daily living and have the ability to help someone build everyday life skills. (Cooking, cleaning, shopping and planning)
  • Helping to plan and organise leisure opportunities such as seeing favourite bands, walking, places of interest etc.
  • Watching plays with them and joining in active interests (you will need to be willing to learn about these).
  • Helping with homework.
