Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementation of the Refinish technical service & training proposition for the Collision, CT, LIC & Sundries segments across the region.
  • Work in continuous contact with the African sales team and Automotive Refinish Director to review priorities and country needs.
  • Implement the training proposition for the Collision, CT, LIC & Sundries segments in the region, based upon PPG CEMTA technical & managerial training offer
  • Design and deliver annual training plans for importers and key customers in agreement with the regional sales and Automotive Refinish Director, adapting training programs and modules to fit specific customer needs.
  • Ensure all training sessions taking place at a PPG training center or at customer site are carried out in accordance with PPG’s and local EHS procedures
  • Maintain high quality & cleanliness standards in the PPG Marseille Training Center, ensuring the center is always ready for any customer training
  • Lead and support new wins conversion via bodyshops & process audit, colormatch, colour tools & application training on site
  • Through end users visits, continuously improve paint cycle via product portfolio review, colormatch and application process
  • Introduce new products in customer’s paint process and assess painters and end user technical skills
  • Audit bodyshop and propose corrective actions to improve productivity & quality, regular follow up on action log
  • Help customers to resolve technical issues either remotely or on site
  • Lead colour IT tools (PaintManager, Rapidmatch, Product APP, LINQ,…) in the regions, offering service to distributors, importers and end-users when required and maximising the use of digital tools and internet updates
  • Provide technical support to any Moonwalk installed in the region
  • Work with the region south Technical Manager and Marketing Operations Manager to trial and verify new products during the development phase
  • Train sales force, distributors and importers in new products launched
  • Introduce new product in end-users and bodyshops to maximise the success of any new project
  • Work coordinated with sales and Marketing Operations to implement product obsoletions and replacements minimising churn and maximising market participation
  • Manage all product claims through PPG’s CAIR system
  • Offer to customer a quick solution or alternative while the root cause investigation is ongoing
  • Follow-up all complaints until totally solved
  • In all instances observe PPG’s code of ethics, export compliance and anti-corruption policies
