Train Crew employees are responsible for providing the safe and timely movement of customers’ freight, inspecting equipment, locomotives, and rail cars, performing tasks such as coupling equipment, operating remote control locomotives, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Is previous railroad experience necessary for this position?
No, previous railroad experience is not required as all necessary training will be provided.
What can I expect to earn in my first year of service?
In your initial year of service, you can expect earnings of around $80,000.

What do I need to know about drug and alcohol testing?
Union Pacific does not tolerate drug and alcohol use and employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing, mandatory testing for reasonable suspicion, and post-accident testing when applicable.
