Requirements

  • University degree (actuarial science, economics or finance, law) or equivalent insurance-related professional experience
  • Sound experience in underwriting of Property treaty business, including risk assessment, pricing and wording
  • Experience in application of catastrophe modeling tools preferred, or motivation to acquire such knowledge
  • Market, sales and negotiation experience and profound behavior in dealing with experienced clients desirable
  • Ideally experience with client audits and discussion of underwriting and portfolio steering questions with clients and brokers 
  • Working self-sufficient, accurately and reliably with high affinity to work in teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English

Responsibilities

  • Underwriting of property treaty reinsurance business for complex accounts with worldwide exposures
  • Negotiating with cedants and brokers on the basis of our underwriting authorities
  • Contributing to new business acquisitions, treaty renewals and enhancement of client relationships in collaboration with Client Management
  • Administrating reinsurance treaties and monitoring accumulation exposure in our IT systems
  • Active Involvement in know-how transfer of property and market/client knowledge within department/division
  • Participating in workgroups, expert groups, internal and external trainings, workshops and reviews
