The primary responsibility of a Ward Aide is to decontaminate, reprocess, and sterilize equipment, supplies, and surgical instrumentation, as well as to clean labor rooms and maintain stock of supplies.
What education qualifications are required for this position?
Candidates must have at least a Grade 12 education or equivalent and possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Is recent experience in a sterile processing area necessary for this role?
Yes, recent experience in a sterile processing area is recommended, as well as experience working in the Operating Room and/or Obstetrical Units.
What physical abilities are required for this position?
The position requires the ability to lift 10 kg and transport patients, specimens, and supplies as needed.
