What is the primary purpose of the Warehouse Team Member position?
The primary purpose of the Warehouse Team Member position is to accurately and efficiently complete assigned distribution center tasks using a variety of equipment, including RF barcode scanning devices and material handling equipment.
What qualifications are required for this position?
The qualifications required include being a high school graduate with strong basic math skills, a minimum of 6 months of experience in warehouse operations (preferably in a warehouse environment), working knowledge of computers or the ability to learn applicable systems, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, a sense of urgency, organizational skills, and a cooperative team attitude.
What are some of the job components I will be responsible for?
Job components include processing system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship), handling products according to warehouse distributor standards, properly tagging pallets, performing general warehousing duties, and other tasks as assigned by warehouse distributor management.
What is the work environment like for a Warehouse Team Member?
The work environment can be subject to temperature extremes, dust, fumes, and battery acid. It also involves heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs), repetitive lifting, consistent walking, standing or walking for two-hour intervals, and repetitive taping of boxes.
Is overtime required for this position?
Yes, overtime may be required as deemed necessary.
Are there any specific equipment or tools I need to be familiar with?
Yes, familiarity with RF/HH equipment, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and stretch-wrap machines is preferred, alongside the ability to operate various shipping applications.
How would I interact with other team members and departments?
You are expected to interact professionally within the warehouse distributor team as well as with all other departments and team members.
What should I expect regarding physical demands for this job?
Expect heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs), repetitive lifting, consistent walking, standing or walking for extended periods, and tasks such as repetitive taping of boxes.
