Requirements

  • - Undergraduate degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, geoscience, chemistry, hydrology, hydrogeology, or equivalent
  • - Post-graduate degree and relevant professional designation would be considered an asset
  • - Five (5) years of water management experience, preferably in the environmental consulting or mining sectors

Responsibilities

  • - Lead Life-of-Mine and mid-range water management planning
  • - Lead water balance and water quality model development and maintenance
  • - Manage and direct water balance and quality databases
  • - Lead water management plan and procedure development and maintenance
  • - Manage water management consultants in surface water and groundwater model development and report preparation
  • - Manage and organize laboratory, field, and instrumentation environmental data while ensuring quality and consistency
  • - Creation of application-specific datasets for internal and external reporting and short and long-term trending
  • - Providing technical support to users of an environmental data management software suite
  • - Collecting, compiling, and analyzing site water monitoring data including but limited to lake elevations, river flows, pumping records, and water quality
  • - Assisting with the management of all internal and external environmental reporting requirements
  • - Assist in developing standards and procedures for data management process improvements
  • - Actively communicate and coordinate with project managers, laboratories, and/or other team members to acquire data packages of varying formats to be imported to a centralized database system
  • - Support digital transformation projects by enabling technical teams to more efficiently collect and manage field data using digital platforms
