Responsibilities

  • Performs special processes using a variety of equipment (e.g. MIG welders) in a manufacturing setting. Supports customer satisfaction with a high quality product delivered in a timely manner. It is expected that the welder will take ownership, problem solve and seek continuous improvement. All work must be completed with a high regard for the safety of others and oneself.
  • Completes required documentation (charts, logs, checklists)
  • Consistently performs quality checks by utilizing gauges and metrology equipment, makes adjustments as required to produce assemblies to print.
  • Creates or modifies weld fixtures to secure components during welding.
  • Interprets engineering drawings of assemblies and components to perform specialized, non-repetitive MIG welding. Visualizes finished product and produces assemblies that consistently meet print requirements.
  • Maintains clean, safe, working environment according to 5s and department safety guidelines. Performs additional responsibilities as requested.
  • Performs production tasks by operating various pieces of equipment as required (saws, drill presses, benders, etc.) Performs work by following standard procedures, and requests changes to standard work when needed.
  • Performs work efficiently and meets daily production quantity requirements; works overtime as required
  • Verifies weld quality and integrity, and performs weld quality tests, both destructive and non-destructive.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
