UCL Baking Society - Letting Them Eat Cake! Welcome to UCL BakeSoc 2020/2021. Baking Society is the perfect society to join if you enjoy baking cakes, bread, biscuits, or pies... or if you just enjoy eating them! We are a relaxed society that is open to everyone. Whether you're an absolute novice or you've mastered macarons, our socials on campus or at local bakeries and cafés will give you the opportunity to meet like-minded people and share tips, recipes, and delicious bakes!In previous years, our regular meet-ups on campus would take place fortnightly on Tuesdays and usually had a theme. Of course, we will need to adjust to the current situation with COVID-19. The Student's Union is trying very hard to make in-person meet-ups possible and we are confident that somewhere in the academic year we will be able to continue our usual fortnightly routine. In our regular meet-ups, feel free to bake anything related to the theme and bring it along with you, but remember that we'll never say no to whatever you make, so don't worry if the theme is not quite your thing! Everyone who comes along can vote for their favourite bake, and whoever has the most popular bake will be crowned Star Baker and will win a great baking-related prize!We have lots of events lined up for the year, and will be holding socials, baking classes, our annual Cake Crawl, and the Inter-University Bake Off at the end of the year. We are also planning online events such as online bake alongs or tutorials for the times where socials in person are not possible yet.Membership informationFree remote membership - Gives you access to all our online events for the 20/21 academic year :)£5 membership - Full membership for the 20/21 academic year. This gives you access to all our online events. It also makes you eligible to win the Star Baker prizes in our fortnightly social.
