Imperial College London (ICL)
navigation.about
Imperial College Biochemistry Society, or BiochemSoc, is a student-led society that provides social, academic and career events for members pursuing STEM-related degrees. We are one of Imperial's largest and most active departmental societies. This year, approximately 700 members subscribed to our society to enjoy the events (the 'Exploring Biochemistry' webinar series being a popular one) and resources (career insight talks, Q&As) we offer.
We're not one to miss out on the fun either!
Previous social events include first-year welcome events, virtual cook-alongs and cook-offs, Ice Skating at the Natural History Museum and our exclusive black-tie Spring Ball. Working with our sponsors and partners, we offer our members aforementioned insight on potential career paths through networking workshops, seminars and careers fairs.
Given the pandemic, we have had to adapt and host online events, including submission-based sports competitions, food and fashion events! This year, we are very excited to host more in-person events (*wink wink* Union bar outings, picnics, a trip to Winter Wonderland) and can't wait to meet you.
OUR AIMS:
1. Connect as many people as possible across Life Sciences, Imperial College and beyond,
2. Enrich our members' university experience by providing them with a wide range of invaluable resources and activities,
3. Bring opportunities to learn about career options, helping to increase employability for our members and,
4. Create forums and events about the latest developments in the field to widen students' perspective beyond degree learning.
