The European Law Students' Association (ELSA) is the largest independent law students' association in the world. It is a non-political and non-profit-making organisation run by and for students. ELSA is comprised of students and young professionals who are interested in achieving academic and personal excellence beyond their university studies.
At ELSA Birmingham, we provide students opportunities to learn about different cultures and legal systems in a spirit of critical dialogue and scientific co-operation.
Moreover, we aim to increase the global perspective of law students and equip them with useful tools for their career.
Finally, we encourage law students to participate in various seminars, conferences and academic activities. Helping them apply their legal knowledge in practice.
The ELSA Birmingham Local Group was founded in September 2018 and is affiliated with the University of Birmingham Guild of Students. We gained the status of an observer group at the NCM Bristol in November 2018. ELSA Birmingham will host the Autumn NCM in 2023.
