Are you interested in debating and discussing European and transatlantic issues, attending high-profile panel discussions, partaking in exciting international conferences, and writing for reputable academic journals and news sources?If yes, then UCL European Horizons is the perfect place for you! We are the official UCL chapter of European Horizons, the only student-led policy incubator of its kind devoted to exploring the meaning of European identity, advancing the cause of European integration, and deepening transatlantic relations. To this end, European Horizons has established a network of students, professors, and European decision-makers, with links to academia, politics, civil society, and business. Together, we will engage in a constructive dialogue that will propound a platform of ideas for reforming the European Union and setting a policy vision for its future. Our mission is, through organising events, connecting people, and putting forward new ideas, to weave a more integrated social fabric in Europe and to strengthen the confidence of the European Union.European Horizons started at Yale and has now expanded to over 60 chapters across 13 countries and 3 continents.UCL European Horizons will:Organise high-profile roundtables and panel discussions as well as thought-provoking debates and discussions about the European Union and transatlantic affairs;Give the opportunity for our members to partake in European Horizons' flagship conferences both in Europe and in the US;Hold research and policy workshops, whose outcome will be published in European Horizons' IDEAS blog and reputable Review of European and Transatlantic Affairs (RETA);Assist our members with any projects and ideas related to the European Union, European affairs and transatlantic affairs. UCL European Horizons is also a proud alliance society of the Bentham Brooks Institute, the first student-led think tank at UCL, encompassing a bespoke research programme to produce peer-reviewed, high quality research policy papers to influence policy-makers and influential figures. Formed by an alliance of 5 of the biggest international affairs societies at UCL, BBI will benefit from vast resources of these societies, a decorated board of advisors and a robust organisational framework of BBI to scrutinise and find the solutions to the problems facing us today.
