Imperial Racing Green is Imperial College's car building team for the Shell Eco-Marathon and Formula Student competitions. Shell Eco-Marathon is an international competition where you compete for energy efficiency by designing a single seater light-weight car. Formula Student is an international event in which engineering students from the world's top technical universities' compete in the design and manufacture of an open-wheel single-seater racing car. Last year Imperial Eco-Marathon went to competition to France, and is planning to do so again this year. The formula student team will also be aiming to reach Silverstone this year. The club principally consists of third and fourth year Mechanical Engineering students who build the cars as part of their major projects, however, the club is open to anyone with an enthusiasm for engineering and racing. There are also plenty of opportunities for first and second years to get involved with the manufacture of components, fundraising, administration and even having a drive!
