The 'MedTech' industry is huge, ranging from virtual reality and augmented reality for use in surgical education to wearables for the remote monitoring of disease activity. Currently, this industry is among the fastest-growing in the world (estimated at $40+ billion as of last year) and big-hitters such as Google and Samsung desperately investing in the sector. With the emergence of new technologies such as AI and data science, the potential of medical technology grows at an exponential rate and will revolutionise healthcare over the coming decades.BL MedTech Society is the central student hub for MedTech (the application of technologies within healthcare, ranging from digital health to bioengineering) at QMUL and Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. We provide a platform where like-minded people can meet, collaborate and also learn more about medical entrepreneurship and innovation. In the 2020/21 academic year we will be lookint to host some fantastic events (programming in medicine talks, coding workshops, conferences, socials etc) and offering incredible MedTech related opportunities to all our society members.
