Mental health is one of the greatest challenges facing young people today.
OpenMinds provides mental health education to school pupils by training university students to deliver sessions on mental health in local schools.
From October to December we organise weekly workshops at KCL with expert psychiatrists, psychologists and teachers to give you the skills to deliver sessions in local comprehensive schools.
These school sessions aim to start the conversation on mental health, the stigma associated with it, and how someone can help themselves and their friends if they feel they might be experiencing mental health issues.
In the new year we organise at least two school visits, where you have the opportunity to pass on your knowledge to school pupils in an interactive classroom based session.
If you have an interest in mental health, teaching or volunteering, or want to explore these things from scratch then join Open Minds!
