Welcome to Students for Global Health Barts, your local branch of a national network of students tackling a range of global and local health inequalities through education, advocacy and community action.Students for Global Health (SfGH) is a registered charity that advocates for universal health coverage and health equality, with a vision of a fair and just world in which equity in health is a reality for all. We believe the students of today are crucial to bringing about the world of tomorrow. There are over 30 branches at universities across the UK, and SfGH is the UK medical student representative at the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA).We are a very active society offering a variety of events: Griff Goes Global debate evenings; Talks from speakers specialised in the fields of global and public health; A reading club; Annual fresher’s picnic; Our watch party series; Our annual photography and art competition, and much more!We are also proud to announce that we won the award for Most Improved Society and the Rising Star Award in 2018-19. In 2019-20 we won Academic Event of The Year after hosting the National Global Health Conference 2020 and Best Society of The Year. Furthermore, in 2020-21, we were awarded Gold for the Student Group Awards!We are an open and inclusive group, welcoming members from all degree programs, postgraduate studies and staff alike.
