University of Aberdeen Mooting Society

In a moot, two pairs of students argue a fictitious legal case in front of a judge. To win, you do not necessarily have to win the legal case, but must make the best presentation of your legal arguments. But don't worry, we teach you how to do all that. So that's mooting. But we also pursue certain broader aims. We try to help our members to secure employment by organising talks, networking events and a number of ‘legal-themed' trips. We also organize a variety of socials and partner with other Law Societies for special events.
