Brunel University London
navigation.about
West Indian BWIS was created as a response to the lack of representation of West Indian culture.
We aim to act as a bridge between Brunel students and the culture within the Caribbean diaspora. Brunel West Indian Society, founded in 2016, was created to represent Caribbean university students and to highlight the often-overlooked culture of the West Indies.
Whether UK born or hailing straight from the islands, the importance of representation allowed for a society that aims to show the best of West Indian culture.
With committee members from many different islands, the Brunel West Indian Society plans to work with Brunel University as well as other West Indian Societies across the UK so that all students, whether undergraduate, postgraduate or alumni, can feel adequately seen in such a diverse society.
