Is this a paid volunteer position?
No, this is an unpaid role and we do not offer sponsorship as volunteering does not meet UK sponsorship requirements.
What is the minimum age requirement to volunteer in A&E?
The A&E role is only available for individuals who are over 18 years old.
How many hours a week do I need to commit to volunteering?
We ask for a minimum commitment of 4 hours a week.
What are the days and times I can volunteer at the hospital?
Volunteers are needed seven days a week, with A&E operating from 8.00 am until late, and wards operating from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.
What roles are available for volunteers?
We are looking for volunteers for two specific roles: A&E (for those over 18) and Ward.
What type of training will I receive as a volunteer?
You will receive training and will shadow an experienced volunteer to begin with, before starting your duties in either A&E or on the wards.
What kind of duties might I be expected to perform as a volunteer?
Your duties may include spending time with patients, assisting with hydration and nutrition, providing directional support, running errands for staff, and restocking supplies.
Can I apply if I am not interested in the A&E or Ward roles?
No, if you are not interested in either of these specific roles, please do not apply.
