Responsibilities

  • The aim of the programme is to give you an understanding of abrdn’s Adviser business, the different teams that operate within it and how we best serve our clients.
  • Whether you are managing people, speaking to clients directly or immersed in change management you will receive training and coaching throughout.
  • Throughout the programme, you can access e-learning courses, a structured development plan, and networking opportunities with senior leaders.
  • Actuarial provides natural problem solvers with the opportunity and support to become an IFoA qualified actuary.
  • Our programme lasts between three and six years; giving you insight into our Adviser business and beyond, whilst developing both your technical and softer skills.
  • Working as an actuarial trainee in an asset manager means placements will differ from the more traditional roles in life and pensions companies.
  • Actuarial roles within abrdn are grounded in an ability to see the bigger picture; you will be expected to apply actuarial techniques to non-standard scenarios, with a focus on clearly communicating meaningful insights with non-actuarial colleagues to help shape what we do and how.
