Requirements

  • Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with a graduation date of December 2024 or later.
  • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours a week) over summer.
  • Strong concept of Electrical systems and design processes
  • Knowledge of Environmental Testing practices a plus.
  • Ability to work quickly and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment as part of a team or individually.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership.
  • Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship.
  • Must be a US citizen, or national, current US permanent resident holder or a protected individual as defined 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) or be able to obtain the required authorization from either the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • We are seeking an Avionics Engineering, Intern who is eager to participate in innovative/unique aerospace vehicle design activities. For approximately 12 weeks you will be immersed in our incredible culture and work on challenging and meaningful projects that directly relate to company goals. The hands-on experience you will gain along with opportunities to engage with our exceptional executives, engineers, and other professionals will be incredibly valuable in shaping the foundation for your future.
  • This position is with the Test Team within the Avionics Department. This position is in Tustin, CA. The ideal candidate who must be enthusiastic with high energy and have a strong willingness to participate in and learn about Qualification and Acceptance Testing. As an intern, you will be working to ensure that the LRUs which are produced within Virgin Galactic are functional and within the required regulatory standards to be installed in spaceships to take passengers to the edge of space and return them safely to Earth.
