The Discovery Diversity Programme is an opportunity for students from underrepresented groups, who are 2 years out from graduation, to be assessed for and apply to join Barclays' Summer Internships in 2026 before others.
When will the Discovery Diversity Programme take place?
The programme dates are April 9th – 10th, 2025.
Is the programme in-person or virtual?
The programme will be held in-person.
What can participants expect during the programme?
Participants can expect seminars and workshops about financial services, insights into their chosen business area, networking opportunities, and assessments for the Summer Internship in 2026.
Who can apply for the Discovery Diversity Programme?
Students who are 2 years out from graduation, studying any degree discipline, and who are curious about how a global bank operates are encouraged to apply, especially those identifying with the 6 Intersectional DE&I agendas.
Do participants need to have prior experience in banking to apply?
No, prior experience in banking is not required to apply for the programme.
Will Barclays provide visa sponsorship for the programme?
Barclays does not provide sponsorship to attend the 2-day insight programme, however, they will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK for the duration of the 2026 Summer Internship Programme.
How are applications being accepted for the programme?
Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis, so early application is recommended.
Is there any specific criteria related to backgrounds for applicants?
Barclays encourages students from all backgrounds to apply, specifically those who identify with their 6 Intersectional DE&I agendas, which include Disability, Gender, LGBT+, Multicultural, Multigenerational, and Socio-Economic.
What is the assessment process for the Summer Internship?
On the 2nd day of the programme, participants can be assessed for the 2026 Summer Internship through a series of assessments.
