What is Year Up United?
Year Up United is a one-year or less, intensive job training program that provides young adults with skill development, access to internships, job placement services, personalized coaching, and mentorship.
Who is eligible to apply for Year Up United?
You can apply if you are 18-29 years old, a high school graduate or GED recipient, eligible to work in the U.S., available Monday-Friday throughout the program, highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills, and have not obtained a Bachelor’s degree.
What does the program include?
The program combines technical and professional training with access to internships and job placement support, including in-depth classes such as Banking.
Do participants receive any financial support during the internship phase?
Yes, Year Up United students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week during the internship phase.
What skills will I gain from the program?
You will gain professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking skills, resume building, and ongoing support and guidance to help you launch your career.
What is the expected outcome for graduates of Year Up United?
75% of Year Up United graduates are employed and/or enrolled in postsecondary education within 4 months of graduation, with employed graduates earning an average starting salary of fifty-three thousand dollars per year.
Where might I intern if I participate in this program?
Internships may be available at leading organizations such as Bank of America, American Express, or JPMorgan Chase among others in the Miami area.
Is this program in-person or online?
The program primarily involves in-classroom skill development.
How long does the program last?
The program lasts one year or less, depending on the participant's progress and circumstances.
