What is the application deadline for the Graphics Internship?
The application deadline is Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024 at midnight Eastern time. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
Can recent graduates apply for the Graphics Internship?
Yes, seniors and graduate students enrolled in a degree program by the application deadline are also eligible to apply.
What are the primary responsibilities of the Graphics Intern?
The primary duties include the production of compelling visual journalism, building projects alone and across teams, which may involve data-driven interactives, maps, charts, social media promotions, and other explanatory work.
What software skills are required for this internship?
For static data visualization, experience with Adobe Illustrator is required. For interactive graphics, experience with HTML and CSS is required. Experience with JavaScript and D3.js is a significant bonus.
Is prior business or finance reporting experience required?
No, prior business/finance reporting experience is not required, though a demonstrated interest in business reporting is a plus.
What should be included in the application document?
The application document should include a cover letter, three examples of your graphics reporting work, and your résumé.
How long is the internship duration?
The internship lasts for 10 weeks between June and August.
