Responsibilities

  • As a Healthcare Support Worker you will be working at the heart of our multidisciplinary teams delivering high quality, patient-centred care.
  • You will be supervised and report to an Assistant Practitioner or Registered Nurse.
  • This will require you to be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, both verbally and in writing, to share our commitment to maintaining high standards in everything we do, and to demonstrate that you can work effectively within a team that behaves in accordance with our vision and values.
  • The post will be based in either Ward 5 (Medicine for the Elderly), Acute Medicine for the Elderly (AME), Ward 33 (which will be opened over the coming weeks) and AMU Frailty Assessment and moving within these areas if required to support with patient care.
  • These areas provide inpatient care which is patient-centred and aims to maximise each patient’s potential for recovery which is supported by an excellent Multi Disciplinary Team.
  • You will be expected to work a variety of rotational day and night shifts, including weekends.
  • You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
