Requirements

  • Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, communications, nonprofit management/fundraising, event planning, or related fields.
  • Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
  • Effective oral, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with colleagues and professional volunteers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment handling multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
  • Knowledge of business letter writing format, style, and protocol.
  • Basic knowledge of AI products for research purposes.
  • Intermediate use in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint, Google for research purposes.
  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 9am-5pm, with additional weekday evening events and some weekend events TBD.
  • Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi connection and reliable transportation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Research : The intern in this role analyzes donor-giving patterns, conducts research, and prepares profiles to support fundraising efforts. They will delve into potential donors' backgrounds to understand their philanthropic capacity, charitable interests, affiliations, and connections.
  • Identify Prospects : The intern will identify potential major gift prospects by researching individuals and institutional donors. This involves using various online and offline resources to gather information on these prospects.
  • Develop Comprehensive Profiles : The intern will create comprehensive profiles for the most promising prospects. These profiles include the donor’s financial capacity, charitable interests, affiliations, and connections. Having accurate and up-to-date records is crucial for effective prospect management.
  • Support Major Gift Strategies : The intern will assist in informing major gift donor pathing and engagement strategies. Their research helps guide how the organization approaches potential donors to maximize impact and contributions.
  • Confidentiality and Ethics : The intern will be expected to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism while adhering to ethical guidelines and data privacy regulations when conducting research and handling donor information.
  • Additional Duties : Attending fundraising events, and other opportunities as assigned.
