Responsibilities

  • Eaton’s Research Labs (ERL) has an exciting Engineering Intern position to support research and technology development in emerging technology programs. The job function includes developing and testing innovative control algorithms for power conversion technologies and support senior engineers in software, development and testing.
  • A key role will be to support presenting ideas and projects to Eaton business leaders and leadership. Sound understanding of Control and Optimization of complex dynamical systems is necessary. Communicate complicated technologies concisely to a variety of different audiences. A good blend of technical knowledge and is required to be successful in this position. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Engineer. This position is in Menomonee Falls/Southfield, Wisconsin/MI.
  • As a technical intern, support emerging power conversion & power system solutions based on advanced control technologies for industrial, automotive, truck, and aerospace applications.
  • Participate in technology projects by supporting teams (local and remote resources) and working with external technology resources (Business Divisions, Universities and Customers).
  • Support advancement of state-of-the-art power electronic controls, as well as supporting the identification of commercialization opportunities with diverse Eaton businesses.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural globally distributed teams, support specific task within the scope of work and provide updates to supervisor.
  • Support global technology programs utilizing Eaton’s technology development processes including Business Reviews, and Project Reviews.
  • Support project plans and deliver results on budget and schedule.
  • Support projects with partners from universities and other research institutes.
