Responsibilities

  • Lead nature tours, day excursions, kayaking tours, paddle-boarding tours, corporate tours and other off property events.
  • Knowledge of ecology, flora, and fauna of a coastal marine environment and maritime forest environment.
  • Perform animal rescues (birds, reptiles, mammals), rehabilitate and release rescues including feeding, cleaning, etc.
  • To assist and perform in the care and cleaning of exhibits, including but not limited to snakes, turtles, salt and freshwater aquariums, birds, and small mammals.
  • Will develop, plan, implement and lead interpretive, educational programs and displays.
  • Must be able to work with children and families.
  • Responsible for maintaining the facilities to include retail, office area and exhibits.
  • Will handle cash, conduct inventory, stock products and assist with retail displays.
  • Will be responsible for opening and closing duties of Nature Center.
