What is the purpose of the Student Dietitian Clinical Placement?

What are the main duties of a Dietetic Intern?
The main duties include conducting nutrition interviews, calculating diet prescription recommendations, providing nutrition counseling, assisting in the development and implementation of nutrition care plans, and participating in interdisciplinary team meetings.
What level of education is required for this position?
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, or current enrollment in an accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics is required.
Are there any physical demands associated with this position?
Yes, the position requires desk and personal computer work, interaction with patients, and may involve travel between facilities and exposure to infectious materials.
Can the Dietetic Intern oversee family members as patients?
No, the Intern cannot work under the supervision of a family member nor care for a patient who is a family member.
Who provides supervision for the Dietetic Intern?
The Clinical Manager assigns and closely monitors all assignments, with direct supervision from a Registered Dietitian based on the agreed education plan.
Are there travel requirements for the position?
Yes, the position requires travel between assigned facilities and may involve attending regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings.
