What is the Discovery Diversity Programme?
The Discovery Diversity Programme is an opportunity for students from underrepresented groups, who are two years out from graduation, to be assessed for and apply to join Barclay's Summer Internships in 2026 before others.
When will the programme take place?
The programme will take place on April 9th – 10th, 2025.
Is the programme in-person or virtual?
The programme is in-person.
What will participants learn during the programme?
Participants will join seminars and workshops to learn about financial services, their chosen business area, the recruitment process, and insights into Barclays as an employer.
Can participants be assessed for the 2026 Summer Internship during this programme?
Yes, on the second day of the programme, participants can be assessed for the 2026 summer internship through two assessments.
Who can apply for the programme?
Students who are two years out from graduation and studying any degree discipline can apply. Barclays encourages applications from those who identify with its 6 Intersectional DE&I agendas, including Disability, Gender, LGBT+, Multicultural, Multigenerational, and Socio-Economic backgrounds.
Does Barclays provide sponsorship for the programme?
No, Barclays does not provide sponsorship to attend the 2-day insight programme.
What is required for eligibility regarding work rights?
Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK for the duration of the 2026 Summer Internship Programme.
How is the recruitment process for the programme structured?
The recruitment process is on a rolling basis, so students are advised to apply early.
What can participants expect in terms of networking opportunities?
Participants will attend dedicated networking sessions with senior leaders and graduates aligned to their chosen business area, as well as connect with people across Barclays' business.
What types of clients does the UK Corporate Banking team support?
The UK Corporate Banking team supports large and medium corporate clients within the UK, including specialist businesses in Large Corporate, Medium Corporate, Public Sector, and Real Estate sectors.
