  • EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES: A current or recently graduated student with a Bachelor's Degree, or student working towards a Master's Degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, water resources, hydrology, ecological engineering, or other related science. 6 months experience with Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy equipment, forensic gas detection, and/or greenhouse gas emission measurements is preferred.   • CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Upon selection, candidate must possess and maintain a valid State issued driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with assigned research projects, directed by mentor and senior personnel. Example projects include; research on advanced gas and water quality sensing, greenhouse gas emissions from wastewater recovery facilities, the collection system, and other CWS-operated sources, and basic sampling efforts to support research studies.
  • Assists with installation, operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting of continuous sensing devices for water and air.
  • Assists with study design, data acquisition, data analysis, reporting and presenting of findings for forensic and research studies focused on identifying unknown gases and quantifying emissions.
  • Drives a Clean Water Services vehicle for work related purposes.
