Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the renewal of the Industrial District Agreements with city departments, HCAD and business entities.
  • Direct inquiries and company communication to the appropriate sources for completion of IDA applications and/or executed agreements.
  • Prepare and submit invoices for Industrial District contracts.
  • Process Industrial Districts payments.
  • Prepare reports on property and exemptions related to the Industrial District valuations.
  • Facilitate, manage, and verify the application and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy for the Texas Enterprise Zone Program (TEZ).
  • Develop or improve on existing tools used to evaluate projects submitted for consideration of an economic incentive through one of the eight (8) existing Economic Development Programs.
  • Assists the Deputy Director by compiling analyses on property appraisals and valuations, economic trends, best practices and historical activities. Will work with the team to help identify efficiencies, best practices and technology enhancements.
  • Serves as City of Houston community liaison with local elected officials, community boards, government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, and other community and stakeholder groups for the City of Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) Program.
  • Responds to and tracks complaints and critical correspondence from stakeholders including elected officials, community boards, and customers.
  • Facilitate, manage, and verify the application and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy for the Houston Historic Site Tax Exemption Program.
  • Direct inquiries and company communications to the appropriate sources for the completion of Historic Site Tax Exemption applications and executed agreements.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for Director meetings.
  • Research various topics to enhance economic development initiatives and projects.
  • Coordinate critical meetings and draft office correspondence between departments.
  • Prepare RCA’s for Council Agendas with NovusAgenda software.
  • Coordinate with external partners to post TIRZ Board Meeting Agendas in timely manner.
