What is the role of an Advanced Specialist Practitioner in the Ambulatory Emergency Care Services?
The role involves supporting the use of virtual care, streamlining referral processes, and actively recruiting and monitoring patients on the Urgent & Emergency Care (UEC) Virtual Ward caseload in collaboration with the Acute Medical and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) teams.
What qualifications are essential for this position?
Essential qualifications include current unrestricted registration as a Nurse, Midwife, or Allied Health Professional (AHP), completion of an advanced history taking/patient assessment module at level 7 or plans to complete it in the next six months, a mentorship/teaching course or willingness to complete it within the first six months, and GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent).
Is prior experience required for applicants?
Yes, applicants must have experience within the specialty at a band 6 level or equivalent, evidence of working at a more advanced practice level, and management of patients with complex needs.
