Requirements

  • Ideally you’ll have up to one year Global Corporate Action experience preferably gained in an Investment Management environment. Some experience in working on projects with good analytical skills while liaising with multiple stakeholders is desirable. Good time management skills with emphasis on ability to prioritise own work and meet tight deadline and solution finding, including strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and self-starter with a dynamic “can do” attitude. Basic working knowledge of Equity / Fixed Income / Derivative type instruments is helpful along with strong Excel knowledge. You’ll be a good team worker sharing knowledge effectively and showing a flexible work approach and an understanding of basic accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • Your role will be a combination of Corporate Actions BAU and a Project role that will include testing upgrades / systems.
  • The successful candidate will be open to take on ad-hoc tasks covering all areas of the Corporate Actions team.
  • Ensuring all corporate actions are captured, scrubbed to multiple sources and accurately released into the Corporate Action system.
  • Identification, escalation and resolution of corporate action issues with particular emphasis on time critical and complex issues and managing custodian deadlines.
  • Timely instructing of Custodians on Optional events via MT565 messaging through Smartstream TLM Corporate Action system and other ad-hoc means when required, to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure positions are placed into escrow as required and removed when available at the custodian
  • Accruing Cash Dividends in the Accounting system
  • Providing feedback on custodian and vendor performance to the management team
  • Liaison with other Operational areas such as Settlements, Pricing, Data Management and Fair Value and in Investment Management with the local Portfolio Service Groups
