Responsibilities

  • Utilizes management, financial, regulatory and systems knowledge to assess market needs, functioning of units, programs, managers, and staff; gathers data from variety of sources in systematic manner, tracking, trending, and analyzing and synthesizing performance indicators.
  • Demonstrates leadership in planning programs, actions, interventions, policies, plans of correction and management and staff. Ongoing response to community/market needs, regulatory changes, patient care needs and quality of care demands. Participates in operational decision making and strategic planning for the organization as requested.
  • Applies appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and accrediting standards.
  • Develops and implements training and coaching programs for department managers and career development opportunities for staff.
  • Sets expectations for standard operations, developing and implementing ongoing programs to measure, assess and improve the delivery of operations in conjunction with the COO/CNO.
  • Works collaboratively with the CEO & COO/CNO and participates with top management, medical staff and clinical leaders within the organization to assist in formulating and administering organizational policy.
  • Participates in evaluation of new and existing programs and departments related to quality of service, patient satisfaction, revenue generation and expense management.
  • Monitors department productivity for the entire organization, analyzing and trending it to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Works in collaboration with leadership on planning process and to identify and promote opportunities in healthcare that enhance the operations of UofL Health – Shelbyville Hospital.
  • Ensures areas of responsibility are congruent with the strategic direction of UofL Health.
  • Responsible for successful development and implementation of specifically approved programs within areas of responsibility.
