Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for the advisory support of the Ohio Union Activities Board (OUAB), a programming board responsible for over 250 events annually in the areas of concerts, lectures, films, comedy events, graduate/professional student programs, and other special events and consists of a 12-person executive board and 130 general members;
  • directly advises OUAB President, Vice President, and Director of Operations and other members of the executive board as needed, based on division of responsibilities with advisory team;
  • designs and conducts training for OUAB executive board members, which may include instruction of a leadership studies course;
  • coordinates OUAB event scheduling including calendar management, venue reservations, contract negotiations, and vendor maintenance;
  • manage OUAB fiscal responsibilities including submitting requisitions, Pcard purchase requests, completing expense reports, and invoicing
  • responsible for developing and implementing assessment plans for OUAB events, including graduate/professional student programming; responsible to maintenance and reporting via eTicketing system, BuckID attendance, and OUAB lottery;
  • works with Associate Director of Student Activities-Campus Events to develop strategic plans for campus programming, including campus and community collaborations;
  • works with Associate Director of Student Activities-Campus Events and OUAB student representatives to create new revenue streams to support internal organizational development (ie. Student Activities Drive In, T-Shirt campaign)
  • supervise student employees with the focus of Graduate and Professional student programming support;
  • maintain all OUAB related websites (OUAB, Welcome Week, Buckeye Nation Week, Homecoming Week, and Commencement Week)
  • ensures effective marketing of OUAB and graduate/professional programming events; assists Associate Director in creating reports and providing updates to various campus partners as necessary, including the Ohio Union Council and the Council on Student Affairs;
  • partners with the Ohio Union, Schottenstein Center, and other local venues to ensure effective planning and responsible use of facilities for OUAB programs;
  • represents OUAB on Ohio Union Council;
  • assists with Student Life special events as necessary; serves on Student Activities and university committees; advises student organizations; performs other duties as assigned.
