Responsibilities

  • The key focus of the role will be to identify, target and build relationships with new clients, with a view to generating business and exceeding income targets.
  • The Assistant Event Sales Manager will undertake market research linked to the sales strategy and identify business opportunities across all business areas.
  • These include, but are not limited to, Concerts, Meetings, Bed & Breakfast, Group Travel, Summer Schools, Functions, Weddings, Residential Conferences, Student and University Promotions, in line with the University’s strategic objectives.
  • Along side this you will be responsible for handling and converting enquires.
  • The post holder will also be responsible for training and supporting the Sales team on a day-to-day basis.
  • First and foremost, the position will play a significant role in helping to position Exeter as a key Hospitality, Conferencing and Events destination in the South West of England, with the overarching aim of maximising income.
