Responsibilities

  • Leads and nurtures the execution of the organization's EDI strategy with leaders by operationalizing best practices and enhancing engagement across the workforce.
  • Provides program recommendations and enhancements based on research, best practices, and program evaluation.
  • Ensures appropriate alignment to strategic plans across the organization, in particular with Community Health, Human Resources, Clinical Education, the Physician Organization, and research entities within Memorial Hermann.
  • Prepares and presents regular reports to Senior Management, highlighting goals, activities, progress, and outcomes.
  • Builds effective and collaborative relationships with campus, service line, and corporate leaders, in order to successfully accomplish all principal accountabilities.
  • Ensures strong alignment and partnership with Community Health in the areas of health equity data, optimizing the Heath Equity Forum and other clinical education programming, and supporting the Joint Commission and CMS health equity requirements.
  • Provides EDI expertise to inform provider and workforce training and capability building efforts.
  • Leads EDI related workforce engagement efforts (ERGs, Safe Space Conversations, etc.). Provides direction on role and scope clarity for ERGs and leaders to ensure alignment to purpose and vision.
  • Partners closely with organizational communications and marketing team on EDI and health equity messaging and communications.
  • Leads the Office of EDI team. Assists with selection, training, retention, and performance management of department personnel.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
