Responsibilities

  • The main objective of the post holder is to contribute to the provision of a timely and efficient immunophenotyping service for both internal and external referrals.
  • The post holder will be responsible for performing flow cytometry techniques using multicolour monoclonal antibody panels as directed by senior staff.
  • They will be expected to use knowledge of flow cytometry instrumentation and the application of multicolour monoclonal antibody panels in the diagnosis of haematological malignancies.
  • They will also perform CD34 enumeration and viability studies in support of the Stem Cell transplant programme.
  • All responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures for the efficient processing of requested laboratory tests.
  • In addition, the post holder will be required to participate in a rota for weekend/bank holiday out of hours service, once fully trained and competency assessed.
