What is the primary focus of the Children's Community Nurse role?
The primary focus is to support children in the community who receive Total Parental Nutrition (TPN) and to work within the general Children's Community Nursing Team providing safe, family-centered care.
What are the working hours for this position?
The post holder will be required to work Monday to Friday to meet the needs of the service.
What type of patients will I be working with in this role?
You will be working with children and young people (CYP) with complex medical needs, specifically those requiring Total Parental Nutrition.
Will I be required to administer IV replacement fluids?
Yes, you will be required to administer IV replacement fluids as needed for the children under your care.
Is there a requirement to liaise with other healthcare teams?
Yes, you will need to maintain a good working relationship with the specialist team at Addenbrookes and communicate with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
How will I ensure the care plans are being followed?
You will be responsible for ensuring that the care plan from the nutritional team and the family is up to date and followed for the children that require TPN.
