Responsibilities

  • Project analysis: review project descriptions, specifications and drawings to understand the scope of work, project requirements and delivery limits.
  • Estimating: Estimating the quantities of materials, labour, equipment and services required for the project. Use estimating software iTwo Cost X, historical data and industry knowledge to calculate the cost of each item.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information on accessibility, potential challenges and other factors that may impact the cost estimate during the tender process.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with Estimating managers, Proposal Managers, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate and up-to-date information. Liaise with the Bid team to resolve any ambiguities or uncertainties regarding the project scope.
  • Bid Evaluation: Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to assess their competitiveness and suitability for the project.
  • Client presentations: Prepare Post Tender PowerPoint presentation for client meetings with estimating team, Present Civil assumption and construction methodology to Client to help them understand the complexity of the job in relation to civil works.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain records of cost estimates, including all assumptions, sources and calculations. Prepare reports as required by the business or project stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Keep abreast of industry trends, new materials, construction methods and regulations that may impact cost estimates.
