Responsibilities

  • The post holder will work with our services users to develop a shared understanding of their eating disorder, and the impact this has on their mental, physical health and well-being, and how it impacts those around them.
  • The post will involve working across the inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Under supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, you will undertake psychological assessments, and develop psychological formulations to guide therapeutic interventions when working on a one-to-one basis with our service users.
  • You will manage your own case load.
  • You will also be working with other team members to deliver and evaluate group-based interventions such as Guided Self Help.
  • Opportunities to be involved with service development and teaching are also part of the role.
  • A good understanding of some of the physical and psychological risks experienced by our patients will be helpful.
  • You will be supported with risk management by the team, alongside training and development opportunities relevant to your role and equipping you with specialist skills.
  • You will also be able to take part in our weekly CPD programme, where we have an extensive range of internal and external speakers.
  • We have a strong culture of research and a continuous drive for improving quality, and there is plentiful opportunity to contribute to our ongoing research and development programme.
