Responsibilities

  • To provide a specialist Clinical Psychology service to the Pain Team to address the psychological needs of those referred with chronic pain conditions.
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise individual responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service.
  • To specialise in providing clinical psychology assessment and programmes of care and advice to patients, their families and carers and staff within pain management.
  • To contribute to service evaluation, audit, research and policy development.
  • The post-holder will be required to provide input to MDT pain clinics, attend team meetings and provide both individual and group interventions (Chronic pain programme, Back in Action).
