Responsibilities

  • Providing specialist technical support to all areas of the Trust and select offsite departments.
  • Maintaining medical equipment such as Defibrillators, Gas Therapy, Specialist Dental Systems, Birthing Beds, Physiotherapy apparatus and many more.
  • Carrying out fabrication work using various materials and heavy machinery such as Drills, Lathes and Rotary Abrasive machinery.
  • Commissioning, repair and maintenance of complex/critical medical equipment e.g. defibrillator/monitors, AED defibrillators, flexible endoscopes, Surgical instrumentation and specialist maternity birthing beds.
  • Training of medical/nursing and technical staff in the safe use of medical devices and workshop machinery.
  • Being available outside normal patient treatment times as required.
  • Providing service normally up to 7 days per week, with on call and overtime as necessary.
  • Demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to negotiate flexible working hours as appropriate.
  • Undergoing Technical and Educational training courses which may require the need to travel to external venues.
