Responsibilities

  • The primary objective of this post is to support the Head of Vendor Performance Management within the Digital Team to gain an improved understanding and tighter grip and control of the current End User Compute and associated Software Licencing usage and also across other key software licence areas from a demand management perspective.
  • In this critical role, the post holder will be responsible for effectively commercially tracking the usage and demand for the Trust's end user device IT assets, including end user hardware (Laptops, mobile phones etc) and their associated software (MS software for example), throughout their lifecycle and also track the use of other software to ensure effective spinning down of instances were possible.
  • Support the vendor management team and Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer to manage the 3rd party supplier budget for End User Compute products and services including but not limited to Mobiles, Laptops, Desktops and associated Software, Managed Print. They will also track the usage of software across the estate and look for opportunities to stand down licences where there are commercial savings to be made without service impact.
  • Track the actual digital spend for this area against forecasted spend, highlight potential risks on over-spend as the demand management process interfaces into commercial management.
  • Manage the Requisitions process for this area of spend
  • Review invoices for accuracy and ensure timely payment to vendors
  • Support the maintenance and ongoing accuracy of an asset database of all associated hardware and software.
  • Work with the End users across the whole of the NCA both in Clinical and non-clinical roles to ensure the assets are correctly allocated in line with policy, tracked and received back in for recycling or decommissioning with the maximum commercial value gained for the asset.
