Responsibilities

  • Salary Administration:
  • Administers the organization's salary structures, including managing salary ranges, salary adjustments, promotions, and pay increases.
  • In collaboration with ELT, reviews and approves salary change requests, ensuring consistency and fairness in compensation decisions.
  • Compensation Planning and Budgeting:
  • Assists in the development of annual compensation budgets and forecasts, including salary budgeting and merit increase planning, and bonus (e.g. stipend) allocation.
  • Monitors and tracks compensation expenses against budgetary targets and provides regular reports to leaders.
  • Performance Management Integration:
  • Collaborates with P&C Business Partners and the (future) P&C Talent Acquisition Specialist to integrate compensation practices with performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluation, and merit-based pay decisions.
  • Ensures that compensation programs align with performance objectives and support a culture of performance excellence.
  • Employee Communication and Training:
  • Communicates compensation policies, procedures, and changes to employees through various channels, such as employee handbooks, intranet portals, and training sessions.
  • Provides training and guidance to managers and employees on compensation-related topics, such as salary negotiation, incentive plans, and pay equity.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyzes compensation data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in compensation practices.
  • Prepares reports and dashboards on key compensation metrics, such as salary ranges, pay differentials, turnover rates, and compensation cost analysis.
  • Job Evaluation and Classification:
  • Participates in job evaluation processes to assess the relative value of different roles within the institution and ensure internal equity in job classifications and salary structures.
  • Updates job descriptions, job classifications, and salary grades based on job evaluation results and organizational changes.
