Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in counselling psychology required; must belong to a registered governing association for counselors such as the BCACC, CCPA or AAMFT. Preference will be given to Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC)
  • Experience: 2 to 4 Years of direct counselling.
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal and counselling skills in working with a wide range of people and their concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual and/or group counselling regarding students’ personal or academic concerns.
  • Assists the Director of Mental Health Services in the development and facilitation of workshops that promote emotional health and academic success within members of the community.
  • Assists in the training of Resident Assistants on handling mental health issues common to students living in dorms.
  • Develop and facilitate in-service training workshops for counselling staff and graduate interns.
  • Participate in weekly group supervision/case consultation.
