Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Resident Experience, Clinical, Building Services and Nutrition Care Partners.
  • Provides leadership and direction to the Directors of Dietary Service and Food Service Supervisors in employing the strategic and operating plan.
  • Ensures the consistent application of Support Services Policies and Procedures in all areas of dietary operations and dining.
  • Supports the development of home-specific policies in collaboration with the leadership in the home and ensure overall compliance.
  • Participates in the recruitment process to ensure highly skilled and effective selection, onboarding, orientation, and evaluation of new managers.
  • Organizes and leads networking, meetings, and communications with Directors of Dietary Services and Food Service Supervisors.
  • Evaluates all aspects of non-clinical dietary and dining services applying a continuous quality improvement approach.
  • Identifies areas of risk related to dietary and dining services and actively collaborates with the home to develop plans to mitigate and minimize risk.
  • Provides the Executive Director with feedback related to the performance of the Directors of Dietary Services and Food Service Supervisors.
  • Reviews staffing requirements and qualifications in all homes to ensure compliance and resident safety.
  • Ensures an effective menu management system that meets resident care needs. Develops and analyzes menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef & Nutrition Care Partner. Provides subject matter expertise in menu technology and utilization to ensure resident needs, preferences, choice and diversity are met.
  • Champions and leads programs in dining to promote excellent customer service and efforts to improve resident satisfaction.
  • Provides input on and monitors all PRD dietary costs in preparation of operating budgets for each home including staffing complement and supplies.
  • Monitors food costs and identifies mechanisms to reduce food costs and facilitate consistency in food ordering/inventory LTC Homes.
  • Provides recommendations and input on costing for all capital kitchen equipment.
  • Provides recommendations and subject matter expertise on the purchases, operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Reviews financial statements of assigned homes and assists managers to achieve financial targets.
  • Work in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Assists Dietary leaders in responding to Ministry of Health compliance review.
