Responsibilities

  • Works along with the Director of Human Resources to facilitate and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in carrying out organizational objectives, utilizing knowledge of the Office’s and County’s rules, regulations and policies.
  • Help resolve indifferences, disagreements, open conflicts, or covert conflicts by identifying common ground and then exploring differences.
  • Be a visionary leader and demonstrate honesty, integrity and courage.

  • Effectively manages human resources issues.
  • Delegates with clarity, explaining what should be done and the reason for the delegation, along with the appropriate level of authority and responsibility being transferred.

  • Must be able to work with all levels of management including Chief Deputy and County Clerk.
  • Must make sure all procedures and policies are communicated to the organization and remains current.

  • Assist with maintaining employment records for all County Clerk employees (regular and temporary employees) as warranted.
  • Assist in the undertaking of staffing responsibilities (hiring, training, evaluating and etc.)
  • Assist and process Family Medical Leave Act requests, employee benefit selections, Texas Workforce Commission claims, Worker's Compensation claims and employment verifications.
  • Assist with Election Payroll process.
  • Assist Director in ensuring that the daily workflow of the County Clerk's Office Human Resources Department is handled efficiently.
  • Assist Director in ensuring compliance as it relates to policies and procedures that govern the department.
  • Fulfill duties as assigned by the Director.
  • Monitor attainment of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide and prepare requested or required data and/or correspondence in an effort to meet the goals and objectives of the department and/or organization.
