Responsibilities

  • Creates construction documents (CDs)
  • Manages client relationship for small and medium sized projects from initiation through completion, including work performed by internal and external resources
  • Review CDs to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical, building systems, building regulations and accessibility requirements
  • For smaller projects may oversee all CD production and review
  • Coordinates with Senior technical staff and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas
  • Manages project through construction phase
  • Manages overall client relationship from initial assessment of client needs, through design concept presentations and final delivery of project. Ensure positive relationships resulting in additional business or referred work
  • Coordinates engineer’s and consultant’s work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents
  • Carry out or assist in field surveys
  • Ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs Senior Technical Coordinator/Architect/PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budget
  • May mentor the work of Junior and Immediate Designers
  • Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work product
  • Conducts client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design
